Endorsed Midwife

Jess is a Registered Nurse since 2011 with a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) from Charles Sturt University, Bathurst NSW. She then continued on to become a Registered Midwife in 2014 with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Midwifery from Curtin University, Perth WA. In 2021 she became an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

Jess has done further studies to become a Calmbirth Educator providing antenatal education classes for birth preparation. She has also returned to university to become an Endorsed Midwife obtaining a Post-Graduate Certificate in Prescribing in Midwifery (2023). This allows Jess to prescribe medications to women through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. It also allows her to order all required blood tests and ultrasounds and provide private independent midwifery care.

She has worked as a Paediatric nurse in Princess Margaret Children’s Hospital, and as a midwife at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women. Her time at KEMH was spent caring for high-risk women and babies and from there moved to the Family Birth Centre caring for low-risk birthing women providing continuity of care.

In 2006 Jess had the privilege of travelling to Tanzania with the Global Health Alliance Western Australia (GHAWA) to provide international health development programs to midwives and support them to enhance care and outcomes for the women and babies of Tanzania.

She will be available at our practice on every Mondays from 08 January 2024.
