Dr Thanuja Sumanarathna obtained MBBS in 1998 from University of Sri Jayawardenepura, Sri Lanka and her post graduate Diploma in Family Medicine from University of Colombo.

She worked in the Public Hospitals of Sri Lanka, including National Hospital Colombo for 15 years in various departments like Gynecology and Obstetrics, General Medicine, Pediatrics, Neonatal units, Orthopedics and the Accident & Emergency department.

She Migrated to Australia and obtained Fellowship from the Royal College of General Practitioners.  She has been working as a GP in Australia for over 10 years.

She is enjoying working as a GP with special interest in Women’s Health, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Aboriginal Health and minor surgeries.

She speaks both English and Sinhalese.
